The Aspen Chapel sits at the edge of town with the mountains rising behind it, and it works as well for an intimate wedding as it does for a large one. We have planned weddings there in early fall and in the middle of winter, and the two could hardly look more different.

An Intimate Fall Wedding
Kayla and Patrick married in late September with 40 guests, just as the fall color was turning. They shared a first look in the meadow across the bridge from the chapel, with their dogs along for portraits. Inside, the altar was framed in garden roses, dahlias, and hydrangea in peach, terracotta, and blush, and Silver City Strings played the ceremony.

A Full Winter Weekend
Coley and Teddy married in February with an evening ceremony at the chapel, draped in ivory with greenery framing the altar. Before the ceremony, they took portraits among the snowy aspens. The weekend around it was built for winter: lunch at the Pine Creek Cookhouse with skiing, snowshoeing, and sleigh rides, a welcome party at the Limelight Hotel, a rehearsal dinner at Casa Tua, and a late cocktail party at Hooch.

Planning Around the Chapel
Because the chapel is a ceremony site, the reception happens somewhere else, and the move between them is part of the guest experience. We plan transportation so guests arrive together and nobody is left looking for a ride, and we time portraits around the light, which goes early in fall and earlier still in winter. In winter, we add coat check and a warm arrival at each stop, and we build flexibility into vendor schedules in case weather affects travel into town.
Where the Celebration Goes Next
Kayla and Patrick’s guests went on to the Caribou Club for cocktails and a candlelit dinner in the wood-paneled dining rooms, with red roses down the tables, dancing, and a round of blackjack. Coley and Teddy’s guests went to Hotel Jerome, where a gospel choir sang them into dinner and the night ended with a sparkler exit and a ride away in the Ultimate Taxi, Aspen’s one-of-a-kind disco cab.
Is the Aspen Chapel Right for You?
It suits couples who want a true ceremony space with mountain views and are happy to celebrate somewhere else afterward. We help couples choose the right reception pairing and plan the hours in between.
