The St. Regis Aspen Resort sits at the base of Aspen Mountain, a short walk from the gondola and the center of town. It is one of the few places in Aspen where guests can stay, get ready, celebrate, and dance under one roof, and the hotel’s team brings a polished, service-first approach to every event.
We have planned weddings and events at The St. Regis since 2017, from a ten-person winter micro-wedding to a ballroom gala for 125 wedding professionals. The building works at almost any scale, which is a big part of why we keep coming back.

The Spaces at The St. Regis
The Fountain Courtyard sits at the center of the resort, with a view of Aspen Mountain, and it is a favorite for ceremonies. It can stay open to the mountain air or be tented, and it works for celebrations in every season.

The ballroom is on the lower level, with champagne-toned walls, sconces, and chandeliers. It is a classic room, and one that takes a full transformation well: we have filled it with a checkered dance floor and long, color-layered tables for a wedding, and with green velvet and orchids for a gala. It can also be divided into two salons for a smaller dinner.
Velvet Buck, the hotel’s restaurant, is a wonderful choice for a reception when you want something warmer and more intimate than the ballroom. It pairs naturally with the courtyard: for one of our weddings, the couple exchanged vows in the Fountain Courtyard, guests stayed outside for cocktails, and then everyone moved into Velvet Buck for the reception.

The prefunction space outside the ballroom is easy to overlook, and it is one of the most useful areas in the hotel. It can hold a cocktail hour, a lounge, a photo booth, or a late-night bar while the ballroom is set or turned over.
Smaller rooms throughout the hotel work beautifully for intimate weddings, rehearsal dinners, and getting-ready suites. One of our winter micro-weddings took place in the Capitol Room, set with silver chairs, mirrored pedestals, and candlelight.
A Few of Our St. Regis Weddings and Events
Chloe and Joe married on the lawn at Aspen Meadows, then brought about 230 guests back to The St. Regis for the reception. House of Wilde set the ballroom with a checkered dance floor and long, color-layered tables, and florals in peach, orange, yellow, and green tied the room to the rest of the weekend. Every table was named for a band, so guests found their seats on a wall of concert tickets, and the dance floor stayed full until a DJ, a saxophonist, and a violinist took over the after party.

Marisa and Ashton married in December with ten of their closest family and friends and their two golden retrievers. Everyone stayed at the hotel, and the day began with breakfast, champagne, and flowers in the bridal suite as snow settled over the mountain. The ceremony took place in the Capitol Room, with white florals framing a short aisle, and afterward the group walked to the Red Room at Catch Steakhouse for a candlelit dinner.

For the WIPA Colorado Gala, we planned a pajama party for about 125 wedding professionals, the most detail-minded guest list there is. The ballroom was set with long tables in green velvet and blush silk, low arrangements of pink and yellow orchids, and a floral installation framing the stage, while the prefunction space held a lounge, a glow bar, a jewel station, and a photo booth.

Planning a St. Regis Wedding
Because the hotel handles catering and service in house, much of the planning centers on design, flow, and timing: how guests move from the ceremony to cocktails to dinner, when the ballroom is set, and how the evening changes once dancing begins. The hotel’s executive chef works with couples on the menu, and we coordinate closely with the events team so the design and the service feel like one experience.
Within the hotel, a courtyard ceremony followed by cocktails outside and a reception in Velvet Buck or the ballroom keeps the whole day in one place. The St. Regis also pairs well with ceremonies elsewhere. Chloe and Joe married at Aspen Meadows and came back for the reception, and the hotel’s location in town makes it easy to move guests to a rehearsal dinner or after party within walking distance. For courtyard ceremonies, we always plan a weather option alongside the outdoor setup.
Is The St. Regis Right for You?
It suits couples who want guests to stay and celebrate in one place, with a ballroom that can be transformed and a team used to hosting at a high level, in any season. If you would rather have a historic hotel at the center of town, read our guide to Hotel Jerome weddings, and if you want the mountain itself as your backdrop, see a Little Nell wedding at the top of Aspen Mountain.
