Jeff’s 60th had a simple brief: make it feel like Jeff. The result was “Just Jeff,” a three-day weekend for 250 friends and family that opened with a welcome party at the family’s home and a Shabbat dinner, then went to the top of Aspen Mountain on Saturday night for the party everyone had come for.

Guests rode the gondola up at sunset and stepped onto a red carpet lined with red Adirondack chairs. On the Wedding Deck, Black Rabbit’s costumed cast met them with Polaroid cameras, fortune readings, and roaming characters, while Django Festival All Stars played from a clear tent with the Elk Mountains behind them. Dance Aspen performed on its own stage, and the lawn turned into a playground: cornhole, mini golf, axe throwing, and paintball fired at a Warhol-style wall of Jeff’s face, repeated in bright color.

Inside the Aspen Mountain Club, Chef Maneet Chauhan flew in to lead an Indian food station set with copper chafers and custom décor, and Mountain Flowers of Aspen filled the rooms with bright, loose arrangements. Around nine, the performers carried in nine birthday cakes lit with sparklers and led everyone to the Sundeck, which Halcyon had transformed with fabric, color, and light for Flashback Heart Attack. Late night brought a Thai food station and Thai tea carts, a vintage candy bar, sliders, and staged moments from the cast, including a Hairspray moment and a flash mob that pulled the whole room onto the dance floor.

At midnight, a conga line led guests out of the Sundeck to the gondola, and everyone went home with a Just Jeff bag filled at the vintage candy bar.
